The Goals:
The International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry (IBMTR) was
started 25 years ago by Dr. Moritmer Bortin to collect outcome
data on patients receiving allogeneic bone marrow transplants.
Data sent to the IBMTR comes from over 300 institutions throughout
the world. The diseases and issues currently being studied by
the IBMTR and ABMTR are: acute and chronic leukemias, Hodgkin
and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, multiple myeloma, breast cancer, T-cell
depletion, and cytokines. The IBMTR/ABMTR maintains a research
staff of three physicians and seven biostatisticians working under
the direction of Dr. Mary H. Horowitz and Dr. John P. Klein.
